Wuhu hosts Anhui-Taiwan youth esports and Shenshan cultural carnival

The 2026 Anhui-Taiwan Youth Esports and Shenshan Cultural Carnival opened at the Wuhu Aviation New City Sports Center on June 30. Attendees included Ning Bo, secretary of the CPC Wuhu municipal committee; Liu Quan, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Anhui provincial committee; Fang Xiaoli, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Anhui provincial committee and director of the provincial press and publication bureau; Zhou Yu, Party committee secretary and chairman of Anhui Radio and TV Media Industry Group; Hai Yan, deputy director-general of the provincial department of culture and tourism; and municipal leaders Hou Mingwen and Zhu Di'e.

With the theme "United in Competition for a Bright Future in Anhui," the carnival blended the youthful energy of esports with the rich cultural heritage of Shenshan. Twenty-two elite teams and more than 140 young players from Anhui and Taiwan competed in League of Legends, exchanging skills and building friendship beyond the arena.

The event is part of the Esports Anhui · Ziyun Mountain series, a provincial esports brand. It follows the opening of the Shenshan Cultural and Technology Industrial Park in May, which has become a new landmark for the province's cultural industry alongside the Ziyunshan (Baohe) Cultural and Creative Industrial Park in Hefei.

The organizers also arranged an esports friendly match between Anhui and Taiwan youth, visits to sci-tech and cultural enterprises, and a Huizhou culture experience program, showcasing Wuhu's achievements in culture and technology. Participants toured Wuhu landmarks including the Anhui Aviation Town, Jiuzi Bay, the China Iron Painting Creative Park and Wuhu Ancient City as part of a "Touring Wuhu through Events" travel itinerary.
