Fanchang, a district of Wuhu, hosted the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Cultural Tourism Industry Ecosystem Development Conference on June 29-30. The event was organized by the Fanchang district government, with guidance from the Wuhu municipal bureau of culture and tourism and the Wuhu municipal bureau of sports, and support from the Yangtze River Delta Cultural Tourism Development Alliance.
With the theme "Converging in Fanchang, Reinvigorating Light Travel," the conference aimed to unlock Fanchang's cultural and tourism potential, establish an integrated platform for government-enterprise matchmaking, investment, business collaboration and talent development, and build a distinctive, diverse and efficient tourism industry with strong brand recognition.
A cultural tourism promotion session showcased Fanchang's natural landscapes, cultural heritage and distinctive tourism resources. Representatives from five towns — Fanyang, Digang, Suncun, Pingpu and Eshan — then took the stage to present projects on Qingbai porcelain culture, patriotic education tours, prehistoric civilization, rural wellness and cycling tourism, highlighting each town's unique strengths and investment opportunities.
A project signing ceremony was held during the conference. Six tourism projects were signed, covering homestays, eco-camps, cultural and creative hubs, film and tourism, youth innovation communities and glamping sites. Leading enterprises in museum IP operation, digital cultural tourism and the pet economy, including Palace Museum Cultural and Creative, Xuezu Technology and Luyun Namei, discussed topics such as empowering county-level tourism with China-chic IP brands, developing pet-themed resorts, and driving industrial agglomeration through business-led investment. They proposed cooperation directions tailored to Fanchang's local resources.
Six experts in museum IP operation, digital creativity, cultural tourism planning and cultural performances were named "Fanchang Cultural and Creative Partners." The "Anhui's Treasure Town — Fanchang Cultural Tourism Promotion Season" was also launched during the event, rolling out a series of public-benefit measures to boost tourism consumption.
A leading official of the Fanchang District Committee said Fanchang is committed to making cultural tourism a pillar industry. The district will adopt a coordinated, region-wide approach to build a greater cultural tourism framework, upgrade facilities for both residents and visitors, and help businesses of all sizes to thrive, the official said.
