Xu Zhi, deputy Party chief and mayor, visited Wanzhi District on June 5 to inspect the aviation industry and airport expansion. Vice mayors Xiang Jihui and Qu Hui joined the visit.
At China Skyaero Engine Maintenance Co., Ltd., Xu toured the production facility to learn about operations and market expansion, and was briefed on the Wuhu International Aircraft Support Base and related projects. He urged the company to keep pace with industry trends, speed up technology innovation and talent recruitment, and expand its market presence. He also called on departments to take a systematic approach to industrial chain planning, bring in upstream and downstream partners, pool resources efficiently, and provide strong project support to help the industry grow.
At Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport, Xu heard a report on the expansion project and stressed the need for sound planning and efficient work on approvals. He called on departments at all levels to take the initiative, provide frontline services, manage key tasks through lists and timelines, ensure adequate resources, and enforce quality standards to deliver a quality project.
At the Wuhu Aviation Logistics Park and Wuhu Airport Logistics Center, Xu learned about efforts to attract aviation logistics firms and develop international cargo routes, and inspected customs supervision facilities. He called for coordinated planning of aviation logistics and regulatory infrastructure, stronger logistics center functions, and better service efficiency. He also said Wuhu should raise its openness by attracting specialized aviation logistics operators and leading cross-border e-commerce firms, and speed up building a regional logistics hub with strong reach and influence — using logistics gains to drive foreign trade growth.
