Wuhu hosted the 2026 RCEP Trade and Investment Cooperation Dialogue on May 27. Li Zhong, vice-governor of Anhui, attended and addressed the event.
Li said Anhui has actively engaged with the RCEP framework in recent years, deepening trade ties and two-way investment. He called for stronger rule alignment, better certificate-of-origin services, and faster customs clearance to help businesses tap the expanding RCEP market. He also urged deeper industrial synergy, with more Anhui firms investing in RCEP markets and building overseas economic and trade zones, while attracting RCEP companies to set up R&D centers and regional headquarters in the province. Li also highlighted the need to advance the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone's strategic upgrade, foster a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, and bring in capital, technology and talent to support cooperation.
Li also visited industrial parks to survey future industries, including advanced materials and 6G, and met with enterprises to learn about their operations and help resolve difficulties.
