A long blast of its horn signalled the arrival of the Panamanian-flagged Xinyi Glass 01 at the Zhujiaqiao Phase II terminal in Wuhu Port early on May 27. Laden with raw materials, the vessel was the first international ship to call at the port since its expanded opening cleared national inspection — a step up for Wuhu Port's foreign trade capacity.

Border clearance took 20 minutes from docking to completion, with officers from the Wuhu Border Inspection Station boarding immediately and finishing all checks on the spot — saving the ship at least half a day.

The Zhujiaqiao Port Area cleared national inspection in April and opened on May 14. Six new 10,000-ton berths allow hinterland cargo to move directly via river-sea intermodal transport without detours, cutting transport time by over 30 percent. The border inspection station worked with shipping agents on pre-clearance and coordinated with customs and maritime authorities to share information. The tailored "one vessel, one policy" approach helps hinterland cargo reach global markets directly, supporting Wuhu's auto and new materials exports.
The vessel is set to load 59 trucks and depart for Port Klang West in Malaysia on June 1.
