Jinghu Lake Park

The two connected lakes in the city center — Jinghu Lake and Taotang Lake — were expanded during the Southern Song Dynasty by the poet Zhang Xiaoxiang. He donated a hundred mu (about 6.67 hectares) of land to create an elegant layout "willows planted around the perimeter, and painted pleasure boats moored in the center". In spring, Jinghu Lake Park is a picture of cherry blossoms and weeping willows complementing each other. The pavilion at the lake’s center casts its upturned eaves into the water, a scene often graced by egrets skimming the surface. At night, the slender willows under the soft glow of lights exude even greater gentleness, turning the area into a cherished "urban living room" shared by residents and visitors alike.
