Shan Xiangqian Held a Working Meeting with Guests from Peking University

On May 12th, the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee held a working meeting with Dong Zhiyong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Peking University. Zhang Feng, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Yang Zhibin, Wei Xiufang, Hou Mingwen and other municipal leaders attended the meeting.

Shan Xiangqian, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, welcomed the arrival of Dong Zhiyong and his delegation, and expressed gratitude to Peking University for its long-term strong support for the development of Wuhu. After a brief introduction of Wuhu's economic and social development, Shan Xiangqian said that at present, Wuhu is fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, firmly grasping the primary task of high-quality development, deeply implementing the innovation driven development strategy, focusing on building a modern industrial system, accelerating the creation of a provincial sub center and building a people's city. Wuhu has always attached great importance to culture and education, and has achieved fruitful cooperation with numerous universities. We hope that Peking University can fully leverage its research and talent advantages and deepen cooperation with Wuhu in areas such as technological innovation, talent cultivation, industrial development, and social governance. Based on what we can do and what  Peking University needs, we will create a sound environment for deepening our comprehensive cooperation.

Dong Zhiyong said that Wuhu has a profound historical heritage, a solid industrial foundation, and huge development potential. In recent years, the city's influence and talent attraction have continuously increased. Based on its own advantages, Peking University will actively deepen strategic cooperation, provide more talents to Wuhu, create more innovation carriers, and actively contribute to the high-quality development of Wuhu.
