Anhui's GDP Grows 7.5% in 2019

Anhui’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 7.5 percent year-on-year in 2019, local authorities said at a press conference on Sunday.

 

The primary, secondary and tertiary industries posted increases of 3.2 percent, 8.0 percent and 7.7 percent in value-added output, respectively.

 

The eastern Chinese province’s grain output stood at 40.5 million tons last year, up 1.2 percent. It ranked fourth nationwide.

 

Industrial value-added output rose 7.3 percent from a year earlier, higher than the national average of 5.7 percent. The growth rate brought the province to the tenth spot in the country.

 

Fixed-asset investment increased 9.2 percent, higher than the national average of 5.4 percent.

 

The province saw its retail sales of consumer goods climb 10.6 percent, ranking second in the country.

 

The province, whose foreign trade value increased 9.3 percent, took the fifth place in China in terms of year-on-year import and export growth.

 

Fiscal revenue rose 6.5 percent, while fiscal expenditure grew 12.5 percent.

 

Urban residents’ per capita disposable income increased 9.1 percent, while rural residents posted a year-on-year rise of 10.1 percent.

 

710,000 urban jobs were created, up 0.7 percent.

 

The province’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.7 percent, within the government’s annual target.
